SUBMERSIBLE PUMPS - A submersible pump is a device with a hermetically sealed motor capable of being submerged completely in the fluid to be pumped. Submersible pumps actually push liquid through the pipes rather than a jet pump that sucks or pulls the liquid through a pipe.
